For a very long period of time, these adorable creatures called “Magic Rabbits” hide in the high cliffs of China since they were first discovered in 1983 and they only resurfaced in 2014.
Get up close with Ili Pika, a mammal specie found in Northwest China. For reasons that are yet to be known, these creatures reduced their population for more than sixty percent for the past fifteen years. Recently they are categorized as endangered animals with only less than 1,000 to date.

Li Weidong, the conservationist who discovered Ili Pika, said on one of his interviews, “I discovered the species, and I watched as it became endangered. If it becomes extinct in front of me, I’ll feel so guilty.”

Because Ili Pika bears a striking resemblance to a rabbit but only with shorter ears, Li Weidong and his colleagues call them “Magic Rabbits”.
