Every time the summer heat strikes, all that is on our mind is a day in the beach. Then we start preparing our swimwears. But a trip to the beac every summer can get boring over time. Once you’ve visited all of the most scenic beach resorts there are, what’s nect? It’s time to take your next summer getaway to the next level. And by next level, we mean not the beach-resort type of summer.

Let the wet days in the sea be long gone; let’s head up to the top . . . of the mountains. You might not be interested to read on, thinking a stay in the mountaintop is the most boring trip ever, that it’s just for the hikers and tourists who want to spend a thrilling season. Guys and gals, don’t judge the mountain too much by its name. There are alps around the world that are boast a great beauty you will forget your happy moments in the beach. Let’s take a look at seven of them.

Kirkjufell, Iceland

Kirkjufell is located in western Iceland’s Snæfellsnes peninsula, the peninsula tagged as Iceland in Miniature, because of the different national sights found in the area. The mountain is also situated near the 900-resident village of Grundarfjörđur. Its summit is 1,500 feet above the sea level. The top of Kirkjufell is one of the best palces to stay at if you want to take a peak of the Northern Lights. It is visible around Iceland between September and January.

Machapuchare, Himalayas

This moutnain’s peak can easily be recognized because it features a sheer, steep, curved fce on one side that plunges downward. Machapuchare rises 7,000 above sea level.
